What Chale is

Chale is a technology platform that connects riders who need a trip with independent drivers who provide it. We are not a transport carrier — the driver is responsible for the trip itself, and Chale is responsible for the platform: matching, pricing, payment, and safety tooling.

Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for keeping your sign-in access to your own phone number.
• One account may not be shared between people — ride history, wallet balance, and saved places are personal to the account holder.

Booking and fares

• A fare is computed by our servers and shown to you before you confirm a ride. It is frozen against the rate card in effect at that moment.
• A completed ride is re-priced only against the distance and duration actually driven, never against a different rate card.
• Night, weekend or demand-based multipliers, where active, are shown before you book — never added afterward.

Waiting, lost items and complaints

Any waiting charge is shown in the fare breakdown before confirmation or on the active ride screen. If you leave an item behind, contact support with the ride reference and do not share sensitive account or payment credentials. Complaints receive a case id and are handled through our complaints process.

Conduct

• Treat drivers and other riders with respect. Abusive behaviour may result in account suspension.
• Do not use the platform for anything unlawful.
• Do not attempt to circumvent the in-app payment or rating systems.

Liability

Chale maintains the platform in good faith but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim is limited to the fare paid for the ride giving rise to that claim, except where the law requires otherwise (for example, in matters of death or personal injury caused by our negligence).

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Continuing to use Chale after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, [state/jurisdiction to be confirmed].
